Title:  Boiler Technician
Location: Russell, KS 67665
Hourly: $25 - $35 / Hour + Overtime

Working Days: Mon-Fri 7am-4:30pm

**We would be open to hiring a Plumber and training that person on the position**

Founded in 2001 we are a 150 employee wheat protein producer and consider ourselves the largest in the US in this space.  The bulk of our products are sold to consumer & pet food companies through many reputable distribution partners.  We have 2 facilities here in Russell, KS and we're looking for a Boiler Technician who can ensure the safety of our utility program which includes boilers, water softeners, cooling towers, chemical pumps and chillers.

What You Will Be Doing

• Communicate w/ plant & maintenance management on utility program operations
• Conduct examination of utility program eq to verify equipment is operating efficiently
• Perform low water cutout tests to ensure boiler shutdown occurs if unsafe water levels
• Chemically treat the boilers w/ an inhibitor to avoid scale & corrosion
• Obtain samples and test utility waters for hardness, chemical levels, pH etc
• Obtain and record pressures and temperatures of de-aeration & feedwater tank
• Collect samples & check for oxygen levels in the de-aeration & feedwater tank
• Check & record chiller water and oil pressure from control panel
• Repair chemical pumps as needed to maintain the proper chemical levels
• Manage all levels of chemical usage & maintain inventory
• Visually inspect the black fill in cooling tower for bacteria and slime
• Collect samples & test cooling tower water for bacteria, yeast and fungi etc
• Grease cooling tower pumps as needed

• Selecting appropriate tools and equipment
• Performing routine maintenance & controlling operations
• Ability to quickly adjust the controls of a machine or a vehicle to exact positions
• Quick hand movement to grasp, manipulate or assemble objects
• Work w/ all members of White Energy professionally
