ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Essential Duties include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Repairs vehicles per estimate and according to manufacturer standards and to the best of your ability and knowledge.
  • Measure, pull and align all structural and non-structural parts.
  • Ensure quality fit of all replacement and reinstalled parts.
  • Helps inspect vehicle for damages and quality defects.
  • Repairs vehicles by OEM specifications.
  • Keeps work quality at a maximum by putting vehicle back into pre-loss condition, or better.
  • Checks parts against estimate and ensures proper parts are ordered and received.
  • Prepares vehicles for body repair work.
  • Notifies management of any additional repairs needed.
  • Notifies management of any difficulties or problems that may prevent a quality job from being performed or cause a change in the promised time.
  • Maintains tools and equipment in a proper state of repair.
  • Maintains and wears all required safety and health personal protective equipment, including respirator, in the manner recommended by the equipment manufacturer.
  • Complies with all laws and regulations pertaining to paint, thinners, and other hazardous materials. Reports any deviations to management.
  • Cooperates and assists other personnel in the repair and prepping of vehicles.
  • Understands, keeps abreast of, and complies with federal, state, and local regulations that affect body shop operations, such as hazardous waste disposal, OSHA Right-to-Know, etc.
  • Works professionally with others in sharing space, tools, equipment and ideas.
  • Operates all tools and equipment in a safe manner.
Skills & Qualifications: Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively and present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, insurance representatives and other employees. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Physical Ability: Able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and team lift up to 100 lbs. 18+ years of age, able to work full time, 3 years of experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
