**Position:** Summer Internship Program - Environmental Compliance Analyst

**Location:** Hybrid in Miami, Florida

**Key Details:**

+ **Hybrid Program:** This internship is a hybrid program based in Miami, Florida. Students must be available for the entire duration of the program and willing to work a hybrid schedule, combining both in-office and remote work. This is a full-time opportunity, with interns working 40 hours per week. While hours may vary, interns can expect to work from 9 AM to 5 PM, Monday through Friday.

+ **Relocation Support:** Carnival provides housing for interns who are relocating to Miami for the summer.

+ **Eligibility:** Juniors, seniors, and graduate students are preferred for the program.

+ **Technical Requirements:** Interns will be provided with a company-issued laptop and will need reliable internet when working remotely.

**Department Summary:**

The Environmental Compliance team ensures compliance with environmental regulations across Carnivals fleet. Our mission is to minimize the environmental impact of our operations, particularly in sensitive regions such as Alaska. We conduct detailed analyses of incidents, implement corrective actions, and provide training to continually improve performance. Our work is critical to maintaining Carnivals commitment to responsible and sustainable cruising.

**Internship Project Summary:**

**Project Title:**

Environmental Compliance for Alaska Operations

**Objective:**

The intern will assist in the preparation and tracking of environmental compliance requirements specifically for Carnivals Alaska operations. This includes creating support documents such as FAQs for ship personnel to ensure proper adherence to environmental procedures, contributing to real-time monitoring of compliance, and providing regular updates on the progress of ongoing initiatives.

**Essential Functions:**

+ Assist in the development and maintenance of environmental compliance tracking tools for Alaska operations.

+ Create and update FAQs and support documents to guide ship personnel in understanding and complying with environmental regulations.

+ Monitor ongoing compliance efforts during the Alaska season and provide regular reports to the Environmental Compliance team.

+ Analyze incidents related to environmental compliance and help develop action plans for improvements.

**Specific Qualifications:**

+ **Academic Background:** Preferred studies in Environmental Science, Marine Science, or a related field.

+ **Skills:** Strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail, and a good understanding of environmental regulations. Proficiency in tracking and documenting compliance efforts is a plus.

+ **Preferred Experience:** Previous experience in environmental science or compliance, or an interest in marine conservation.
