Position Overview

Are you an experienced Manager of Data Engineering looking for an exciting opportunity at Stanley 1913? Join our team of highly skilled data engineers in Seattle, WA and make a significant impact. We are seeking a candidate who has a proven history of excelling in data engineering and possesses strong leadership abilities. If you are passionate about using data to uncover valuable business insights and enhance performance, this is the role for you. Your key responsibilities will include supervising the design, implementation, and maintenance of our data infrastructure, ensuring that it effectively supports our business needs and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of data engineers, data scientists, and BI developers, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines and architectures to support data integration, ETL processes, and data warehousing.
  • Develop SDLC principles, standards, and guidelines based on industry-accepted data architecture practices and techniques.
  • Collaborate with diverse teams, including data science, analytics, and product development, to understand data needs and deliver solutions that drive exceptional business value.
  • Ensure the integrity, availability, and performance of data systems through proactive monitoring and maintenance.
  • Implement effective strategies for data management, ensuring proper data governance, security, and compliance.
  • Drive continuous improvement in data engineering practices, tools, and processes to maintain our world-class standards.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data engineering and recommend innovative solutions to enhance our data capabilities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in data engineering, with at least 3 years in a leadership or management role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling.
  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Strong hands-on experience implementing and using cloud-based storage, data lake, analytics, visualization, SQL, container, dev ops, and security services.
  • Experience with data platforms supporting Data as a Product, Data as a Service, Data Mesh, Data Virtualization, Delta Lake, Lakehouse, and/or Data Fabric.
  • Experience with modern data processing technologies including Hadoop, Spark, and Kafka.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing scalable data pipelines and ETL processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Effective interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate well with both technical and non-technical individuals.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the consumer goods or retail industry.
  • Knowledge of data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).
  • Understanding of machine learning and data science concepts.
  • Certification in cloud platforms (e.g., Azure platform related certifications, AWS Certified Data Analytics, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer).

Salary Range

$130,000-$160,000 Annually

The base pay range for this position is for a successful candidate within the state listed. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on multiple factors, such as work location, job-related knowledge, skills, qualifications, and experience.
