Job Overview

Trinitas Intensive Care Unit is a collaborative closed 25 bed capacity mixed with medical and surgical cases under Intensivist care program. We provide management of acutely ill patients with life-threatening conditions requiring complex assessment, high-intensity therapies and interventions, and continuous nursing vigilance. Our care management consists of care bundles based on evidence-based practices that are executed with compassion and care.

Intensive care nurses work with all patients and their families to create healing, humane, and caring behaviors in a safe environment while focusing also on patient advocacy. The ICU Nurse oversees the operations of the ICU in the specific shift assigned. He/she collaboratively works with other Clinical Coordinators regarding the workflow of the unit and professional/ educational needs of staff; performs administrative duties such as coordinating care teams for patients, and acting as a liaison between patients, patient families, and health care professionals. Conducts nurse leader rounding to patients and ensures excellent patient experience. Reviewing nursing documentation for accuracy, compliance and timeliness. Reports, communicates and collaborates with the ICU director.

Scheduling Requirements

• Night Shift, 40 Hours per week [7:00PM 7:30AM]
• Monday Friday, every other weekend and holiday rotation

Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN License or approved RN license required
• BSN
• CCRN certification preferred
• AHA BLS prior to start date required
• NIHSS Certification within 1 year from start date
• A minimum of 5 years of full intensive care experience
• Managerial/Charge position experience preferred

Essential Functions

The Registered Nurse Coordinator (RN) provides nursing care in the health care system within the scope of practice defined by the Nurse Practice Act and regulatory standards and assures awareness of ethical standards as defined by the ANA code of ethics. The Nurse Coordinator is an individual practitioner and the interdisciplinary team manager, who utilizes the nursing process to integrate all aspects of the provision of care and individualizes the plan of care to address specific patient needs.
