Job Description Position Summary: Working as part of the patient care team and direct supervision of the physical therapist the Physical Therapy Aide will provide services to members within the scope of practice. Help the patient to alleviate suffering from injury or disease, restore function, improve mobility, relieve pain, prevent and or limit permanent physical disabilities and promote fitness and health.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following: - Perform delegated, selected or routine tasks under the direction and supervision of the physical therapist:
- Prepare treatment area, equipment
- Prepare patient for treatment
- Observe patient during treatment to document response and report to physical therapist
- Instruct, motivate, safeguard and assist patients practicing exercises and functional activities under direction of physical therapist
- Secure patients into or onto treatment equipment
- As part of care team participate in planning modifying and coordinating treatment
- Perform clerical duties such as patient scheduling, taking inventory, ordering supplies, answering telephone, taking messages and filling out forms
- Maintain equipment and furniture to keep it in good working condition, including performing the assembly and disassembly of equipment and accessories
- Administer active and passive manual therapeutic exercises, therapeutic massage, heat , light, sound, water, electrical stimulation, ultrasound, etc.
- Change linens, prep rooms, treatment stations
- Assist patients to dress, undress, apply and remove supportive devices
- Measure patients range of motion, body parts, vital signs, to determine effects of treatments or for patient evaluations
- Train patients to use orthopedic braces, prostheses and supportive devices
- Fit patients for orthopedic braces, prostheses and supportive devices; adjusting fit as needed
- Administer traction to relieve neck and back pain using intermittent and static traction equipment.
- Keep and maintain accurate/timely patient records
- Be familiar with Employer contracts with hospital facilities, urgent cares, specialists and ancillary vendors and use only preferred providers.
- Other duties as assigned.
The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between $20 - $21 per hour; however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, licensure, skills, and experience.
The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.

Requirements Education and / or Experience: - At least one year physical therapy aide experience desired.
- Medical office reception and or back office experience desired
- Certification as a Medical Assistant desired
- Current CPR certification.
- Managed Care experience a plus.
