Job Description

We seek a Senior Data Analyst/Engineer with expertise in data modeling, analytics, and ETL processes to join our team. The ideal candidate will have significant experience with data modeling for analytic services, working with tabular and multidimensional models, and troubleshooting complex data warehouse and reporting system issues. This role requires a deep understanding of cloud-based data analytics services, particularly within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem, and a strong background in data integration, reporting, and optimizing data workflows.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Design, develop, and manage tabular and multidimensional data models for analytic services, ensuring optimal performance and scalability.
  2. Troubleshoot and analyze data warehouse and report system issues, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  3. Write complex SQL queries to extract and manage large datasets, ensuring efficient data retrieval.
  4. Using tools like Power BI or Tableau, develop interactive visual reports and dashboards with filters, variables, and drill-down capabilities.
  5. Design and manage ETL processes, ensuring seamless data integration from on-premises and cloud-based sources.
  6. Schedule and automate ongoing data processing jobs to ensure reliable data pipelines.
  7. Optimize data processing workflows for improved performance and reliability.
  8. Ensure data security through role-based access control (RBAC), encryption, and industry standards (e.g., HIPAA) compliance.
  9. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design scalable data solutions that meet growing data volumes and user demands.
  10. Document technical processes, data models, and system configurations for development and operational purposes.
  11. Implement high availability and disaster recovery processes to ensure business continuity.
  12. Optimize resource usage and cost efficiency in cloud-based data solutions.
  13. Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering and analytics.

Qualifications:

  1. Extensive experience with data warehouse modeling and development, including experience with both tabular and multidimensional models.
  2. Strong understanding of Microsoft Azure services, particularly Azure Data Warehouse (DW), Azure Data Factory, and other Azure analytics services.
  3. Experience writing complex queries in SQL Server and Oracle to manage large-scale datasets.
  4. Hands-on experience with Power BI, SSRS, Tableau, and similar visualization tools for creating interactive reports and dashboards.
  5. Familiarity with Python or other scripting languages for data manipulation and automation.
  6. Strong understanding of data security measures, including encryption and role-based access control (RBAC).
  7. Knowledge of industry data compliance regulations, such as HIPAA.
  8. Ability to design scalable data solutions that handle large data volumes and user demand.
  9. Experience with process optimization, including improving data models' and ETL workflows' performance and reliability.
  10. Good understanding of high availability and disaster recovery concepts.
  11. Experience with issue tracking and project management tools like Jira and familiarity with Agile software development methodologies.
  12. Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
  13. Ability to maintain and create technical documentation for both development and operational purposes.

Desired Skills:

  1. Experience with machine learning techniques and their integration into data analytics workflows.
  2. Certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., Microsoft Solutions Developer, Oracle, Google Cloud, etc.) that demonstrate expertise in data analytics and cloud technologies.
  3. Experience with ERWIN or similar data modeling tools for database design and structure.

Salary Range:

$120,000 - $160,000 per year
