The Outpatient Nurse is responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with mental health and addiction-related illnesses. This role involves monitoring patients during esketamine treatments, administering long-acting injections including Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) and antipsychotics, and participating in a multidisciplinary treatment team to guide patients toward sobriety. The nurse will also conduct naloxone training, HIV and Hepatitis C testing, and provide smoking cessation education.

Classification and Schedule
This position is classified as a part-time non-exempt position, with a regular schedule of 17hours per week.
The outpatient Psychiatric Nurse will work the following schedule:
Shifts
Monday 8:00 am to 6:00 pm
As a member of the nursing team and as the nursing supervisor, it is also expected that the successful candidate have some flexibility to help provide coverage, when necessary.
Compensation
Base Rate
The successful candidate(s) will be offered a base rate based on meeting minimum qualifications and post-licensure experience.
The starting hourly rate for new registered nurses is $34.00. The exact starting rate for RNs at DBH is calculated using the starting rate + 1% per year for each year of post-licensure experience. The starting hourly rate for LPNs is $27.50 per hour with the same post-licensure experience calculation described above to determine the exact starting rate.
Shift Differential
This position is eligible for shift differentials during graveyard and weekend shifts, when assisting with coverage. Hours worked during graveyard (5 pm - 5 am) and during all weekend shifts are eligible for a 15% differential.
Coverage Incentives (PRN Rate/Emergency Rate)
Nurses at DBH are eligible for incentive pay when picking up shifts in addition to their standard number of weekly shifts.
PRN Rate
A nurse hired to work in a PRN capacity will receive a 15% adjustment to the base rate agreed upon at hire for all PRN shifts where he/she is given at least 24 hours of notice before the shift.
For example, a registered nurse hired at a base hourly rate of $34.00 would receive a PRN rate of $39.10 per hour.
Emergency Rate
A PRN nurse called in to cover a shift with less than 24 hours of notice will be compensated at 1 ½ times their PRN rate.
For example, a registered nurse hired at a base hourly rate of $34.00 would receive an emergency rate of $58.65 per hour.
The emergency rate is used as a last resort, is used sparingly, and requires executive management approval.
It is highly preferred that individuals who are interested in obtaining employment at DBH, their spouse, or one of their dependents not be actively receiving services at DBH except for medication management services to eliminate/avoid possible conflicts or uncomfortable boundaries.
Required Experience and Skills
Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) in the State of Utah.
DBH utilizes an electronic health record system, so computer literacy is a must for employment.
Preference will be given for applicants who are fluent in Spanish, but this is not a requirement for employment in this opening.
The selected candidate must successfully pass a pre-employment criminal background check and drug screening. DBH will not hire individuals currently using illegal drugs or abusing alcohol; therefore, making employment at DBH conditional upon successfully passing pre-employment drug screening by providing a valid sample. Candidates who are offered employment are required to report for a drug screen at an Intermountain WorkMed location within 24 hours of being requested to do so by the DBH Human Resources Department.
